How the Wireless Charging Kit Works

The kit includes an external transmitter coil that you affix to the outside surface of your plastic fermenter at the same height the Pill floats when fermentation is near terminal. The RAPT Pill drifts toward the transmitter due to the slight magnetic attraction, parks against the inside wall, and charges inductively through the plastic without any physical connection. You plug the transmitter into a USB power source and leave it running — the Pill manages its own charge cycles. For a batch lasting two or three weeks, you can keep the Pill at useful charge throughout without a single lid-off event.

Long Fermentations and Lagering

Standard home brewing batches — ales done in 7–10 days — rarely need mid-fermentation charging. But lagers, Belgian saisons at low pitching rates, and extended conditioning runs can last 4–8 weeks. Without wireless charging, you’d need to break fermentation seal at week two to pull the Pill for a USB charge, introducing contamination risk and potentially disturbing a delicate cold-conditioning environment. Vessel Compatibility Notes for Australian Brewers

The Wireless Charging Kit works through plastic — including FermZilla All Rounder bodies, standard PET carboys, and HDPE buckets. It does not transmit effectively through stainless steel fermenters. If your primary vessel is stainless, the standard Micro-USB charging approach (removing the Pill between batches) remains the correct path.
